Mirzam becomes part of the Home Barista Show story

Mirzam is joining the next Home Barista Show as an official sponsor.

I have loved their work for years. Not just the chocolate itself, but the way they approach it. Thoughtfully. Quietly. With real care. Like I feel I am doing with The Home Barista Show. That is why I am so glad they are now part of what is fast becoming a stunning lineup of sponsors, including Comandante and Acaia.

Visiting their Al Quoz factory never feels like visiting a retail space. It feels like being let into a working idea, shaped by origin, curiosity, and patience. Every time I speak to Kathy Johnston, their Chief Chocolate Officer, I leave more certain that intention still matters.

I am proud to bring them into the Home Barista Show.

Why the Mirzam Home Barista Show partnership matters

Mirzam roasts their own cacao. They develop every recipe in house. They source directly. Their bars are beautiful, but nothing about them is surface level. The story goes all the way through.

That way of working mirrors what I have tried to build with the Home Barista Show.

This is an event for people who brew coffee at home. People who take it seriously. People who care about taste and are willing to ask questions to understand it better. They are not part of the café industry. But they are deeply part of the coffee world.

Bringing Mirzam into the show felt natural. The values line up. The approach lines up. The people behind the work understand each other. Plus it gave me an excuse to visit them during a work day. Correction: to visit a chocolate factory during a work day.

What Mirzam brings to the Home Barista Show

This is not a sponsorship in name only. Mirzam will have a real presence at the show.

You will be able to taste their chocolate alongside coffees that complement it. You will learn how fermentation affects both beans and cacao. You will hear the story behind their sourcing and see how it connects with your own relationship to coffee.

For home brewers, it is a chance to widen the conversation. Coffee does not exist in isolation. It sits next to chocolate, bread, wine, fruit, and anything else built on origin and transformation. Understanding that makes brewing more interesting.

The Home Barista Show Dubai

This edition will feel different

The first Home Barista Show had a clear purpose. It was a way to say that home brewers deserve more. Better tools. Better access. Better recognition. And above all, a space of their own.

This next edition builds on that. There will be more to see, more to try, more to talk about. The room will feel more layered. Mirzam will be part of that texture.

Their presence brings something that cannot be manufactured. It brings joy. Depth. And a clear reminder that flavour starts long before it reaches your cup.

If you are thinking about attending, come

I have not announced the location yet. That will come soon.

What I can say now is that this edition is worth traveling for. Whether you are across town or in a different city, you will find something valuable here.

At the last show, I watched people light up as they learned something new. I saw people meet for the first time and talk like old friends. I saw home brewers step into a space built entirely with them in mind.

This next edition builds on that feeling and expands it.

Why this matters to me

This show has always been personal. It is something I created because I felt a gap. I wanted to bring people together who care about coffee but do not see themselves reflected in the typical specialty coffee scene.

Kathy did not have to say yes when I invited her. She is busy. She has nothing to prove. But she did say yes. Because she believes in what the show is trying to do. Because she respects home brewers. Because she understands that good things happen when different corners of the craft world meet.

That kind of support means a lot.

When you walk into the next Home Barista Show and see the Mirzam table, I hope you stop for a minute. Taste what they have made. Ask a question. And feel what it is like to be in a space where coffee and chocolate belong together.

Because they do.
